This pet-friendly Asheville mountain lodge-style hotel features a heated outdoor pool, on-site dining, and free WiFi. Biltmore Estate, Winery and Gardens is 6.2 mi away. A cable TV, coffee machine, and a seating area are offered in each room. Holiday Inn Asheville East extras include wood furniture, and some rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator. The Woodfire Grille & Bar features local produce, home-style American dishes, and local micro-brew beers by the pint. Beer flights and moonshine cocktails are also offered. A 24-hour fitness center, gazebo, and Dog Wood Walking Trail are on site. A business center is available to all guests throughout their stay as well. The hotel is 1 mi from an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway scenic highway and 4.3 mi from Asheville Mall. Chimney Rock Park, which offers 1000-acres of hiking trails, is 40 minutes' drive away. We are a pet-friendly property with a $45 per night fee ($135 per week maximum). Our breakfast package include breakfast for 2 adults only. There will a charge after the third person.

Positives: Location was excellent for access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville.
Negatives: Desk staff not friendly or helpful. My check in was done in a curt and unfriendly manner, another guest checking in at the same time was provided extensive information about the hotel; I was essentially handed the key. I called the front desk to inquire about the availability of a safe and was just told there wasn't one, no other explanation. I realized I needed to add my daughter's car to the registration for overnight parking and was told I had to come down in person and do it, no offer to take the info over the phone. Menu in lobby said there was pool side service from 5:30 -9; however, I sat there for an hour and not one hotel/restaurant personnel was present. Overall, service not on par with the price I paid for 2 nights.
The landscaping and grounds are aesthetically pleasing, the pool well kept. My experience with the staff was poor, at best. At check-in, the person helping me was cold and brief. A person dropped in to ask their nightly rate, they were quoted an amount less than what I had paid and the person left, the two desk clerks then discussed this amongst themselves without offering an explanation to me as to why the rate would be lower if I dropped in that evening vs reserving and paying in advance. Also, breakfast was not included with the room rate, something that wasn't clear when I booked and disappointing considering the high per room rate. Overall impression, experience not worth the cost.
