Spacious room, comfortable bed, clean, quiet once maintenance work completed - who were very quick & kind staff. There were specialty kitchen equipment for rent.
Negatives:
Noisy bath fan, hissing toilet, non- draining tub, broken bath tiles, non functioning icemaker, no working lightbulbs over cooktop, partly open windows 1st night b/c we never thought to check - combining with above to prevent sleep 1st night. Maintenance knocked when "Do not disturb sign was oit, before 10am on a Sunday (after our 2st horrible night waking 1 of us needlessly.) Also elevator stopped functioning temporarily while we were on board as we were going to room upon arrival. Maintenance was quick to address most our problems. Unclear why had not been addressed before assigning the room to guests.
Even the elevator alarm didn't work. The windows had metal blocks installed eliminating thm as an escape route in a fire & we were on 3rd floor. A fire alarm went off somewhere in the hotel during our stay. So escape could have been needed. Lastly, While of not much concern, the room was missing a recliner present in other like rooms.

The location was good; close to UNCC but away from all the traffic. The check in and check out staff were both friendly.
Negatives:
The building is very old and outdated. Our room was mostly clean, but at the same time dusty in areas. An air freshener was used and was very strong. The entire property, inside and out smelled like weed. We were woken up around midnight to the very strong smell of weed. We will not stay here again; hotels need to follow through on their “no smoking” policies.
