Positives:
It was great
However the room we were first put in smelled horrible
The air conditioner was extra noisy
They did move us to another room
Negatives:
The shower… the shower curtain was just awkward
I will take a stall with a door
I have usually had a great interaction with the staff… however the young man who checked us in was not very personable…

Bad
Positives:
Location, Atmosphere and room were all great.
Negatives:
I didn't like having to pay $20 more for parking. And then when I pulled up and the lot was full I was confused. There were lots of empty spots in the parking lot that were reserved for a different hotel. It was late... trying to figure out where to park was the last thing I wanted to be doing.

Excellent except for parking.
Positives:
The location is really nice, right on the boardwalk and right next door to the train museum. The hotel itself is actually built into a portion of the historic Atlantic Coast Line corporate offices. They also have a nice pool table for free in the lobby and several other family games. We really liked this hotel and plan to stay at other Aloft hotels in the future based on this experience.
Negatives:
The design of the room is loft style which means the bathroom isn't as isolated as in a normal hotel room. That was a little awkward for our family with teenagers and parents all in the same room. There was a curtain but no door.

Positives:
Was clean. Very cute modern rooms with a nice view of the cape fear river and battleship.
Negatives:
Upon check-in keep in mind that for those on a budget there is a 100 dollar incidental fee they hold on your card. The room top bar opens at 5pm. There is no breakfast or lunch or room service. Also I had room service knocking at my door at 10:53.
