My boyfriends car got broken into while in the hands of valet and they have took the entire situation very unprofessionally it’s crazy. i would not recommend getting valet if you stay at this hotel.

The lady at check in was terrible. Never have I felt more unwelcome as a guest. I have felt more welcome at a roadside motel. The beds were overly firm and caused a lack of sleep for our whole family. The valets were kind young men. The rec area made up for the negatives.

The best place to stay in Winston-Salem, hands-down. Wonderful staff, wine and cheese happy hour, And walking distance to all the fun things in the historic/arts district

Restaurant was ice cold at night, everyone was wearing jackets, including the servers.

The building and architecture itself are stunning, rooms are clean and spacious (we had a corner room overlooking the RjR smoke stacks). Sink wasn’t draining (stopper was stuck) when we checked in and someone came immediately. Everyone was really kind and helpful, and the downstairs playroom as perfect with kids! Would certainly book again!
Negatives:
Not property in particular, but tricky situation with kids - the expensive snack tray my kids devoured when I was in restroom. Might be good to advise families of this or to offer to remove in future. I didn’t even realize it was there in all honestly! $45 of snack devoured in 15 minutes lol. If you’re a family with small kids, you might want to hide it!

It was great to have a restaurant in the hotel. It makes it convenient.
Negatives:
The lobby was very very cold. Their living room room area was also cold due to the outside doors always being opened to allow guests in. The restaurant was also cold due to the same reason. I always asked to be sat away from the cold. They did their best but again I was cold. The bed was hard, the pillows weren’t soft and my room was cold. I have to say as soon as I informed the front desk of these issues, they sent two soft pillows up and the heat went from 71 to 74. They did try to accommodate me. They also offered to send some tea up, I declined. Also, even though they offered free coffee in the living room from 6-10. There was not a coffee pot in my room. I missed that amenity. The comforter was not fluffy or warm.
