As all Best Westerns, high standard of rooms, furnishings and cleanliness. View of the river from the room - fabulous. Very convenient for restaurants within walking distance.

The fact that the freight trains run behind the hotel 24/7 and are very noisy. This was not mentioned at the time of booking and although they do provide ear plugs we were woken several times every night.

Friendly staff. Beautiful view and large suite. Nice touches such as good quality soap.and shampoo. Liked the late ,coffee and hot choc machine in loby!

Didn't know there was a train that would come within approx.50 to.75 feet of our room.every hour or less! Thought the complimentry ear plugs were for our guests snorers, lol.
Having to walk up hill with my father outside to go.to.breakfast.and wait in the cold til.after 7 for.them to uock.tue restaurant. Limited menu., ok food, no pastries etc. Nothing to do in town! No.shopping or gift shops! Ice.cream store closed before dinner.

Positives:
We had a double queen with a balcony. The view outside the room was spectacular. We sat and enjoyed the view of the Columbia river every afternoon. The location was nice and close to the waterfall corridor plus Portland and Hood River. We got a chance to go to the Bonneville Dam and see the returning Salmon, plus huge sturgeon. It was a very nice fish hatchery. There was also breakfast included with our room that was served at an adjacent restaurant. It had several options.
Negatives:
I would have liked room service every day but I think that most hotels aren't offering that anymore, since the Pandemic. My husband would have liked a bigger balcony but I didn't mind since the view was so pretty.
