Exceptional
Nelson Solo Traveler October 17, 2023
Negatives: Apparently drugged homeless people around the motel, approaching guests. Strange man passing by and staring at guests cars and luggage. Rude receptionist. Strong smell on the room. After a 6 hour drive, we arrived at the motel at 11 and there was a sign saying that we should ring the bell on the other side of the office. When I went to the other side, there was a woman on the sidewalk near the bell. I thought she might work there, but when she started talking nonsense I realized she was a homeless person (apparently drugged) trying to get a room for a man who was on the gas station nearby. I couldn't know what that person was thinking or planning to do, so I got back to my car, drive away and called the motel. A woman answered the phone, sounding like she had been awakedned by my call. I told her I had a reservation and tried to ring the bell of the office but there were some homeless people exactly in front of the bell, that I left and was around the corner going back to the motel. Then I asked if she could go to the office, once I was arriving and couldn't ring the bell with homeless people approaching me. She was very rude, said repeatedly that she lives in the property and that I should go back and RING THE BELL, only then she would help me with the check in. I went back to the office door, rang the bell, waited, walked to the other side to be near my car, once I didn't know if there were another homeless person near the office door. A woman opened the door looked at me with a angry face and rudely pointed in the direction of a window near her. She told me that I should had rang the bell before, then I explained that there were homeless people around the bell. She was rude again, saying that the homeless people were trying to get a room, but she denied, meaning that there was no need for me to worry about them. If she was approached by drugged homeless people in a neighborhood and city she doesn't know, she would be worried.

Positives: Staff were extremely friendly. Whilst the room was basic it was all you would expect from a motel, it was exceptionally clean and comfortable.
Negatives: We are used to sleeping with a window open for fresh air and sleeping under duvets or thick blankets. Additional blankets would be appreciated.

Positives: In my opinion, the juniper motel in madras, or was the best place to stay for the money I had to spend and I'd do it again. The rates were and are very reasonable and the room was very nice. The staff was and is outstanding. terry
Negatives: I'd have to think very, very hard about that.

Positives: My first stay at this motel was in the early 70s with an aunt and uncle of mine from eugene and were hunting thunder eggs if I remember correctly. Eons later, my kids lived in madras and the motel became a good place for us to visit when my old studio was getting ready to be torn down. I saw the motel as a safe place to visit with my kids.
Negatives: I don't know.

Very good

Positives: Very comfortable bed, clean bed, friendly and helpful staff.
Negatives: The hotel is very close to the main road. They have rooms away from the noise if you ask.
