The hotel is in a fun part of Portland. We enjoyed walking around. The hotel decor fits the sort of retro industrial vibe of the area. The room was very comfortable and a good size.
This is the closest hotel to the Portland Union Amtrak Station.
Negatives:
Parking in the area was difficult and we felt we had no choice but to pay for valet parking ($50+).
Even though it is one of the closest hotels to the Amtrak Station it is a bit of a hoof so you might want to take a taxi or ride-share if you aren't traveling super light.

Night check in staff was not friendly although the valet people were much friendlier. Room was dingy and felt very unclean. Because we had driven for most of the day and arrived in around 9:30pm, we were tired and just wanted to shower, get a bite and go to sleep. Restaurant was close to closing for the night 10pm. We ate what we brought with us. Pillow smelled like like it was used and not changed from the previous occupant. I used my pajamas onto the pillow before I could put my head on the pillow. Furniture was very dated, felt dirty as did the carpet. Lighting was poor.

Very clean and modern. Large bathroom for a basic room which I appreciate. The breakfast in the morning is awesome. I used the gym which is well appointed. It’s a good location but I like to walk when I’m in a new city and you don’t have to go far away from the hotel before it feels a little iffy. Lots of homelessness which is sad. As a single woman I didn’t feel too comfortable out at night. To end on a good note the staff and facilities are excellent
