Exceptional
Positives:
Dinner in the lobby was good and we didn't have to go out during the rainstorm.
We also enjoyed the History Stairway with the excellent photos and Portland trivia. I was happy to see that many president's stayed at The Benson and that 45 was not among them!
Desk staff and restaurant service staff were exceptional.

1. The Hotel needs refurbishment… could be an icon!
2. I didn’t like the unprofessionally dressed desk staff… sloppy, casual, needs a big shake-up! Looked to me like homeless people were in the lobby late at night (with the support of the desk staff)… A hotel is not a place to harbour homeless and illegals… it made us as guests, very uncomfortable!!!

Positives:
The staff at check in were great. It’s in a perfect location for downtown Portland/pearl district fun.
Negatives:
The beds are very stiff and uncomfortable. And the cleanliness was not what it should be. As I was leaving/unplugging my charger I looked down and saw trash, a clump of hair, and a screw all in the corner of the bed frame of my bed. When I showed this to the front desk a picture I took they were just like “oh thanks for letting us know” and didn’t apologize for that.
