I've stayed here twice now (once in July 2023, and now in September 2025). Very good experiences each time, and I was especially happy with my stay this time around.
My room (Room 5) was decorated so comfortably and beautifully. An excellent price and value alike (I feel like I paid as little as I could for a hotel in the area, yet my room came with a king bed, desk, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker w/ instant coffee, and a nice bathroom alike.) Sonrise is right off I-70 and Route 30 with several fast food places and stores nearby, so super convenient for travelers going through Breezewood.
Finally, I especially appreciated how kind Sonrise's staff were to me. Unfortunately, I came down with a cold the night I stayed there (certainly no fault of theirs.) I called them not long after I left to let them know in case they'd need to clean my room extra. The gentleman who answered couldn't have been more kinder, compassionate, or supportive of me, which meant so much. I'd be very glad to stay here again-- and I very likely will since I visit the area annually!
P.S. This may not be a big deal for everyone, but a little bonus I liked is there's a sign right outside their property with mileage to DC and Baltimore that's nearly equal to one another. Being from greater Baltimore and loving geography and traveling, I found this sign cool enough to photograph and share with local family/friends (see attached picture!)

Sonrise is located near two bigger highways, so I did hear more road noise during the night.
That said, this certainly isn't their fault, and I definitely still had a great experience overall. Plus, I found playing calming nature sounds on my phone while I slept helped make a difference! ?

I have stayed at hundreds if motels imy life. This was the worst room I have ever stayed in.

It was filthy. No towels or washcloths in my room. The sheet on the bed was tucked diagonally across the bed. TV selection was poor. Burned out lights in the room. The floor was so dirty I did not want to walk in it barefoot. Dirt smudges on the walls.

We received a refund.

After booking through Booking.com in June and receiving a 2nd confirmation email 2 days previous, we arrived exhausted on expected day November 1 after travelling for 9 hours. The man at the desk was unable to speak English and could not communicate with me except to say "cancelled". He phoned someone who in very broken English also kept saying "cancelled". We were then forced to, in the dark and without any data, to search for another available and reasonable accommodation in an unfamiliar town [which was the whole point of using Booking.com 5 months earlier]. The motel's claim was they had sent me a cancellation email "due to unavoidable circumstances" but when I checked it was time dated a few minutes after the time I had been attempting to check in.

I stayed here a few years ago and everything was great from the service to the room. It appears it is under new management now. I gave it another try while I was in the area this week and I was not happy at all. We booked a single non smoking room with a king bed for myself, my wife and baby. Service was “odd” and we were given a room. It said non smoking on the door but my lungs hurt from the smell of smoke and ashtray that hits you when you walk in. The bed was far from a king, maybe a full, the shower wouldn’t get hot, and there was mold in the bathroom. Also a broken window taped together. Will definitely be looking elsewhere next time we visit the area.
