Athena Inn Chattanooga

Negatives: Nothing. I checked in at 1am and they had it all enclosed and had to check in through bullet proof glass and was not able to use the bathroom in the lobby. woke up at 7am to a phone call stating I had dogs and needed to pay fees..we left at 8am and stayed there a total of 6 hours. There wasn't any verbiage on booking.com that stated additional fees had to be paid for pets...either way wasn't there long enough to even be charged. The experience was not a good one.

Negatives: Front counter Lady was very very rude and unwelcoming. I won't go into a long story but one situation did involve my child with autism and ceberal palsy it was just a really bad encounter with what was supposed to be a exciting time for him. TV didn't work when we got there but they did fix it, room still had some trash in it a used cup with straw thankfully my kids didn't get it before I noticed it but bathroom and bedding looked clean.

Negatives: Staff was acting weird. I asked to keep my bags there until check in time. This man asked for my ID like he was the police, and proceeded to tell me that he couldn't keep the bags because he had all this cleaning to do and that they were just toooo heavy to be moving around. I'm a whole woman carrying these bags for miles so it sounded like an excuse. There's not a lot of professionalism with the staff except a young gentleman in the morning. Perhaps he's the manager because he was so much friendlier and accommodating.

Negatives: The outside needs some TLC, the room could’ve been cleaner. Loaf of moldy bread and old eggs under the sink.

Negatives: Everything was as expected except two things. The staff informed us to be quiet because the walls are thin and other guests are sleeping. If I'm paying for a room, I shouldn't have to limit my noise level to accommodate others. What noise I make is for my discretion. When building the hotel, the company should have thought about making the walls thicker. That is not on the guests. And also, the battery to the remote did not have a back on it. So, accidentally we dropped the remote and the batteries fell out. One battery rolled under the bed, we pushed the bed over and under the bed, found not only the remote battery but the back to the remote as well. This just goes to show, they do not clean under the bed as it was found to be very filthy.

Negatives: I don’t like now that they ask for $50-100 hold

Negatives: I booked my room online, website and agreement said I could pay at the property when I arrived but my card was charged in advance. It didn’t really matter bc I was gonna use that card anyways although I feel they should’ve waited until I arrived as the agreement stated. I always want to walk into the room and make sure it’s descent before I stay bc I have stayed at many hotels that the pics look great online and the rooms are horrible, mostly at anything made by Wyndham but luckily this hotel was actually in nice shape. There is cameras everywhere which is good but made me feel like it was a bad part of town so I won’t be staying at this hotel again. There’s also no smoking and vaping signs everywhere so if you’re a smoker you’ll have to sit at the picnic table to smoke or your car or be forced to leave the property. Parking was ok, no issues with finding a space no matter what time of day/night I went out. Noise level is very high, can hear sirens, cars that sound like pissed off weedeaters all day and night!

Negatives: The bed bugs or mites whatever was biting me. Staff walked in while I went as sleeping

Negatives: The light that shines all night outside even with the shades it comes through , BUT for the price and cleanness you can not beat it .
