The first room we were given smelled of strong urine covered up by harsh cleaning supplies. We were moved to a second room that you were instantly greeted by stale cigarette smoke. The smell is likely from people smoking outside near the lobby and it’s coming in through the AC unit. Our room wasn’t far from center lobby area.
We were exhausted from traveling, moving around our stuff and ready to relax. After looking around the room was not clean at all. Floors were beyond gross, likely never cleaned. Dirt in corners. Hair in the bathtub and the sink did not drain well. I went and bought cleaning supplies, broom and an air purifier just to clean up the room and make through the night. I got on my hands and knees to clean. If I could have washed my own bed linens, I would have.
The only positive in the horrible experience was the front desk lady was very nice and apologetic to the situation. I understand there is a lack of help with employees (sign for hiring), but cleanliness should be a top priority (especially during COVID).
