We arrived at check in at 2 am after driving from NYC for 12 hours and felt like we were being interrogated by the gentleman at the front desk. I paid for the room online and both of us had to present our IDs, credit cards and I even had to present the license plate number of my vehicle. The front desk made copies of both of our IDs and forgot to give them back to us. We were so tired from driving we didn’t notice. We woke up at 7 am and checked out and got back on the road to drive to Texas. At about 3 pm that day while on the road i received a call saying that both of our IDs were at the front desk. I had to pay for UPS to pick the IDs up and to have them shipped to us in Texas when it was the front desk who made the mistake. I am not sure if it is hotel policy to collect all of that information but it felt to me like it was racial discrimination and for that I won’t ever go near Knoxville Tennessee or this hotel chain again.
