Didn’t get any
Every thing was great
price of a bottle of water is more than $4 , which is a bit unreasonable high
The overall friendliness of the staff made up for some of the inconveniences, but learning that my room was sold to another family while I stayed there, and learning so since the other family tried to enter the room, was quite off putting. Not only did it leave me uncertain of my privacy and safety for the duration of my stay, had I not been there -- my belongings could have been damaged or taken. There seemed a lot of confusion of my room being linked to my name from check in to check out, even after the mistake was supposedly corrected. The room key did not work several times (I assume since there was the problem of my name not being linked to the right room but who knows), which was a little annoying. The sink did not properly drain, the carpets are stained and make the place look so much older and dirtier than it is, but the location feels safe and allows for easy access all over town. Not a terrible experience, but not a super one either.
The place desperately needs their carpets cleaned, and if the errors regarding the ongoing confusion of a room truly is due to a "glitch in the system," please call IT and get a system update because selling a room more than once to different people is not safe!
It wasn't a terrible stay,...
The staff & Cleanliness
One of the best Memorial...
The staff was pleasant, the decor was more interesting than usual, and I liked that there were some food options available and games in the lobby although we didn't use either one. The room was larger than I expected although the only place to sit was the beds. I liked that the Tv was mounted on the wall and there was lots of room to lay things out of your luggage so you could find things during the stay.
The light in the hallways was very very dim. I did not like that in a hotel and would have found that uncomfortable enough to have moved to another hotel if I was traveling alone. The bulbs were not out...it seemed to be a decor decision...maybe not the best one for a hotel. Dark and dingy was the first impression but the rooms were not.
We booked a handicapped room because it was the only thing left. I found it odd that they had a tub in the bathroom and a drain in the floor next to it. I guess that is another way to take a shower if you can't get into the tub...? When the toilet was flushed, there was a loud gurgling sound from the drain in the floor. That was disconcerting since the drain was open to the room. I have never experienced that before in any hotel and I was not happy about it. I had to wonder how sanitary that was as the toilet seemed to connect with that drain...maybe not but it was the impression. The gurgling noise only happened when it was flushed and it came from the floor drain.
We found a used candy bar wrapper in the area of the coffee maker. It was missed when cleaning before we arrived. Luckily, everything else looked clean since they were fully booked.
I would have liked to have talked to someone at the front the desk about the drain noise at least before checking out but since we only stayed one night and there was no staff at the front desk the whole time we were making trips to the car reloading it in the morning, I did not report it. There were people working the "kitchen" so maybe the front desk has to do double duty but frankly I wasn't going to spend more time waiting to talk to someone. I have to think staff flush the toilet when they clean the room so it probably was not something they did not know about. I would not choose to stay in the handicapped room again. I might give the rest of it another chance. I had mixed feelings about my first time at an Aloft.
Gurgling Drain in the Bathroom...
We booked the hotel because of the free airport shuttle and when we checked in they advised they were not offering this. The front clerks young son was interrupting clerk when I was trying to clarify why there was no shuttle when it was on the website. There was a cockroach in the lobby area of the bar and there was no toilet lit. My main issue is you shouldn't advertise airport shuttle.
