I loved everything about this hotel!
• The price was amazing—$40, which is the same as the Hilton Garden Inn that costs $150. I really enjoy staying at affordable hotels, and this is one of the best I’ve ever visited.
• The food is fantastic! They even had tacos in the morning, and I’ve never had such delicious food offered at a hotel before. I really hope they continue serving these tacos—they’re so good.
• The staff is incredibly kind and generous. I loved that at any time of the day, you can help yourself to bread with butter. Such thoughtful touches!
Overall, I had a wonderful stay and absolutely loved this hotel.
Negatives:
The only thing I didn’t like was that there was a strong smell of Indian food in the lobby. It was a bit overwhelming.

One Year Makes a World of Difference - Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cotulla (2025 Review)
My stay at the Microtel Inn & Suites in Cotulla in 2024 was a acceptable experience. Unfortunately, my recent visit in 2025 painted a drastically different picture, and I cannot recommend this hotel unless you are desperate for a place to stay.
What a decline! Upon checking in, we were assigned a room only to discover the bathroom light fixture was completely detached and resting on the bathroom counter. A quick trip back to the front desk resulted in a room change, which, while appreciated, became a hassle. We packed up all our belongings (including our dog) and proceeded to the upper floor, only to find the elevator was out of order. After a tiring trek up the stairs, the new room proved to be even worse. It was visibly unclean, and several lights were out. We were tired after a 12 hour drive day and gave up...
Beyond the issues with our room, the overall state of the hotel was concerning. Garbage littered the main floor when we arrived, and it remained there the following day when we checked out. This lack of basic cleanliness speaks volumes about the current state of the hotel and the apparent lack of pride from the staff.
It's truly disappointing to see such a decline in just one year. What was once a decent option now feels like a place to avoid. Unless significant improvements are made, I would strongly advise travelers to look elsewhere for accommodation in Cotulla.
