The pool wasn't open for the season (May) yet that wasn't disclosed in the booking. Staff were very slow, long waits to check in/out despite there not being any queues. The price was way too expensive to not have the pool!

When I booked, I was told 'a junior suite with a city view of downtown Houston'. What I got was a corner room with a pull-out couch above the valet drop-off zone in front of the hotel ON THE 3RD FLOOR OF A 16 FLOOR HOTEL. Seriously, there is no view of downtown Houston from the 3rd floor unless you enjoy peeping in windows. The noise factor of the location was horrible even with ear plugs.
Did I bring this to staff attention? Yes, before I even got on the elevator, I explained what I paid for. The staff member looked it up on the computer system, made a face, and said,'You have a specialty room. All of our corner rooms are specialty rooms.' I pointed out I was sure to have a view of the Houston skyline. She told me I would have it, AND they encouraged all guests to take a look at the view at their 16th floor lounge...
If I wanted a bar experience, I would have saved time and money by booking directly with Motel 6 and using my extra cash at an upscale bar. I bought my Rolling Stones concert tickets in November of last year and eagerly awaited this trip with my husband. I spent more on lodging and restaurants than I normally budget for concerts. It totally backfired...
