We canceled our stay within minutes of arrival! The entire building smelled like mold. Our room had visibke mold on bedspread and on the floor! Like fuzzy green mold!!!!

No remote for the tv, when I asked for one I was told they would bring me one. I waited 45 minutes for one and I was told "oh I forgot"
Then the toilet wouldn't flush at all. He said he would have someone look at it and there was one in the hall.

2 live cockroaches alive on their back in the walk in shower. That is Texas for you . They might need to make some adjustments in their big control department. I just killed them and flushed them as we are from Texas.

No towels, no tv remote, room was dirty upon arrival no soap in dispenses. Dirty containers for the cereal breakfast area not cleaned. Ac in room squealed all night so didn't get much sleep.

The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were clean. The warm breakfast was good.
Negatives:
The water pressure was low, in shower. Carpets stained, but otherwise clean. Exterior garbage cans and dumpsters were over flowing. During the five days, the maid came to the room once. We ran out of toilet paper and never had any facial tissues.

All in all, for the Town of Winnie, this was above average, considering what we have experienced from most other hotels
Positives:
When we got to the room around 1 am, it smelt like wet dog, didn't say anything because we were tired. Bed sheets felt damp, I just played it as being cold. The second night I opened the microwave door and there was moldy food in there. I reported it the next morning, the clerk didn't seem to care. Saturday morning I took off all the sheets because they smelled dirty. Got back that night, and all the dirty sheets were in the floor still, beds not made. The clerk told me that "the rule is she only changes the sheets every 2 weeks" and then he seemed annoyed when I asked for sheets to put on myself. He gave me 2 flat sheets and 4 pillowcases, and I'm pretty sure he called me a bitch as I walked off.
Every night when we returned, the lobby smelled like weed. There was a Ziploc bag taped off the smoke detector. There were more things, but those are the major points.
Negatives:
The whole experience was just not what I expected from La Quinta. We stay at La Quinta because they're usually clean, and the workers are respectful, that wasn't the case this time.

It was decent for the price. Breakfast was decent like other La Quintas. It was close to the area I wanted to visit.

It seemed like an older hotel that had been remodeled. The ac wasn't working in our room so they had to switch our rooms.

Waffles are always good. I liked the potatoes, too. The orange juice was good, as was the coffee.
Negatives:
Eggs were not great, but it’s hard to make good scrambled eggs in quantity. I never like the bread or muffins or bagels at any hotel, so I can’t fault you on that. I would appreciated at least a good margarine; that spread is not very good when you’re used to real butter.

Probably the worst hotel experience ever. Dirty, badly in need of updating. Bathroom door would not close, soap dispenser out, hall carpeting smelled, breakfast was very poor. All cereal sugary, eggs dry/lumpy. An arrest in the hallway at night!
