Quality Inn Radford-West Blacksburg I-81

Negatives: If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. And I'm not hard to please. We planned to stay for the week of Christmas, visiting relatives in the area. I had stayed here years ago and loved it. I'm not sure what's happened since then, but it's not the place it was. 1. They made me put down a $100 deposit upon arrival, which was not mentioned anywhere in the booking info. Fine, no big deal, it will be refunded after checkout. 2. The building is older and I get that, but is in need of repairs and updates, it looks awful. The lobby is neat and clean but the rooms are old and dirty. There were what seemed to be boogers stuck to the walls, stains on the bedding, towels had rips and holes in them. 3. The beds make loud metal cranking noises if you move an inch. So, sleep wasn't great. 4. The room keys kept not working, had to get them reset 4 times. Also had to stand and wait at the front desk twice for this and there was no employee to be found. I called corporate and they were able to track them down and ask them to come back to the desk. The employee then said he'd been fixing a "major plumbing leak" in a room, but he was bone dry. 5. We chose this hotel over others because there's a pool and a hottub. The pool hours are 10a - 10p, but they keep the door locked and you have to go to the front desk (and hope someone is there) to get the door opened. Also, no towels. And half the lightbulbs in the pool area are dead. We didn't even want to use it after seeing it. 6. There are signs up in the breakfast area about a $15 fine if you take food out of the area. The selection was very small and some of the food was stale. 7. One of our children had a medical emergency in Christmas day and actually ended up having to have a surgery. I stayed at the hospital and my husband went back to pack and check out so we wouldnt need to worry about that the next morning and we'd just stay at the hospital anyway.

Negatives: The key cards worked intermittently in the room and rarely on all exterior doors. The stench of the hall to the pool was overwhelming. The hot tub was barely warm and there was a pair of titey whiteies sunk in the bottom.. Gross. More U-haul trailers than guests. What business are they in...? Breakfast was lame.

Negatives: NO COFFEE POT, HOWEVER, OTHER SUPPLIES THERE. REQUESTED ONE WHEN WE FIRST GOT IN ROOM , NEVER RECEIVED. STAYED IN THIS AREA TO BE CLOSE TO HOSPITAL AS I WAS HAVING A PROCEDURE. MY TIME WAS CHANGED TO 1;30, I REQUESTED LATER CHECK OUT AND GAVE ME ONE EXTRA HOUR. ALSO, SOAP, SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER IN SQUEEZE BOTTLE ATTACHED TO WALL FOR EVERYBODY. NO DISPOSIBLE BOTTLES. WAS RUN DOWN. NOT VERY CLEAN. WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN. BREAKFAST WAS TERRIBLE

Negatives: Charged me a 100.00 deposit, if I would have known ahead of time, it may have not mattered. But I didn’t know until check in

Negatives: The only thing that could’ve been better were the eggs for breakfast. And if that’s the only thing wrong, I call it a big win.

Negatives: Rooms need update and repairs to heating system as well as exterior repairs. ADA bathroom needs larger space and update shower facilities.

Negatives: Small old TV’s with bad Cable provider a live roach was found in room. Breakfast was minimal waffles, biscuits, sausage gravy, cereal and juices. No Fruit or meat proteins no oatmeal or instant grits no eggs. Bad water pressure for shower

Negatives: It was outdated, it felt like it was understaffed as well. Upon checking in, as we were walking to our room it smelled strongly of weed, even though it said it was a smoke free hotel. Breakfast was not what I was expecting I guess. There was cereal, waffle machine, biscuits and gravy. Waffles tasted sour, biscuits were tiny and hard. You get what you pay for I guess

Negatives: Beds were miserable. Walls were thin — we could hear full conversations from next door.

Negatives: Need more breakfast items to choose from.

Negatives: I had to make a$100 deposit, for what!?!? And then didn't get it back, all I did was sleep in the bed nothing was touched it used, I want my deposit back for that it sucked , indoor pool was freezing and hot tub was freezing that was only reason I choose that place to start

Negatives: The hotel was VERY run down. The hotel and the room smelled like mildew. The ad advertised breakfast was prepackaged bagels and cereal and they ran out of coffee. The outside of the building is falling apart and the rooms are very outdated.

Negatives: Daily Maid service was less than average. Had to ask for towels daily and ask them to change my trash when full. Overall clean but the carpet was sticky
