Loved the location and ambience. Very quiet. Is right in the colonial Williamsburg so you could walk everywhere. Concierge staff were incredibly helpful.
Negatives:
The 4pm check in is not great after a long time traveling to get there. We ended up getting the room at 3pm after walking around and lunch.

The Griffin is an old property; probably very chic in the '80s, but beyond needing an update. The furniture is old and damaged. Try to get a room withOUT the fireplace. Not sure if it's a maintenance issue, but the odor is overwhelming.
Positives:
Really large rooms and bathroom/dressing area is good for a family with young adult siblings and parent. More privacy. That and it’s an affordable dog friendly CW hotel. My kids outgrew out the small Woodlands rooms a long time ago. And the Lodge is obscenely expensive.
Negatives:
We usually bring our dog and I understand the dog friendly rooms won’t be newly renovated. But even so the rooms carpets and bathrooms could use a good cleaning/refresh. And the patio door flat out wouldn’t open. Terrible safety standard. And inconvenient to have to take the dog out through the lobby instead of the room.

LOVED the room and the beautiful view. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely lady that took care of cleaning our room. She was so sweet! The staff at the office was friendly and welcoming. Our entire stay was wonderful!
Negatives:
Everything was great! There were a bunch of lady bugs in our room, but we get those at our house too so they're understandable. They enjoyed the room as well!
