Wonderful location…near family
Positives:
Great hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. A small, heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi tub were really welcome 'extras', and the quiet garden and outdoor lawns (with picnic table) were lovely and peaceful. The staff were wonderful: friendly, helpful and kind, all of them going out of their way to help and to find us a quiet room that we had requested. Melody really stood out for being extra helpful and welcoming; she couldn't do enough for us, and she is a real asset to the team. All the reception staff and cleaning/maintenance team were great, too. Highly recommended hotel for an Oak Harbor stay!
Negatives:
Breakfast could use a few more 'healthier' options, perhaps some plain/unsweetened yoghurt, even? There was not much for vegetarians etc. to choose from besides the hot oatmeal, as the daily specials were usually meat-based or had meat in them. It would be good if Best Western could help to limit the large amount of single-use plastic and disposables used for breakfast (plastic cutlery, disposable plates and cups, and every single slice of bread was even wrapped in an individual plastic bag - which may have been a Covid-related precaution, but is an awful waste of plastic that could be avoided).

Comfortable hotel with the friendliest...
Positives:
We stay here when visiting family and love the friendliness of the staff and how well kept the property is. Oak Harbor is a small town and this is a gem we really enjoy. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy. The breakfast is very good and the kitchen staff always tried to go above and beyond to make sure you had what you needed. More Gluten Free options would be appreciated, like hash browns without any spices and muffins. We will be back

I did not like the fact they allowed dogs in the breakfast area, I am highly allergic to dogs and it was very uncomfortable to see dogs there. I had to leave.

The hotel was just a short drive to downtown Oak Harbor and there was ample free parking on the property. There was lots of choice at the complimentary breakfast and staff were helpful. Beds were comfortable.
Negatives:
The hallways smelled of cleaning agents, the only elevator was shared by guests and room service staff with large carts, and the walls between rooms were thin. We had booked 2 rooms and had requested that they be near each other, but they were on different floors.
