The hotel was clean

We had a problem upon arrival and took entirely too long to get resolved. Tornado hit the first night and had no power remainder of stay. Staff was not helpful or accommodating in any way. We had to go to Walmart and get lanterns and camping fans and rough it. I know you cannot help an act of God, however I did expect the staff to be helpful in some way make it easier. But prior to the tornado, we were put in a room right outside three dining room. And it seems like all the staff as well as other guests congregate there to chit chat and it made us a little uncomfortable. The worst part was at check in. And the 3rd shift employee had already done the night audit and told us we would have to basically pay twice. After insisting they call the hotel manager, they figured out how to fix our reservation that I previously paid for. If I had listened to this employee I would have spent 160 dollars twice for 2 nights in a hotel with no power

It was available. There was flooding in the area and we couldn’t get home. The staff were super nice and. Wet helpful.
Negatives:
Our room had an odd odor, the fins on the a/c/heater were very dirty, the carpet was sticky and left the bottoms of my feed black/dirty and there was black mold all around the window frame. Not great for the price we paid.

When we opened the door it smelled like smoke. We stayed when AAU basketball team was there. They ran up and down the hallway the entire night bouncing basketballs off the walls and doors. I nicely asked them to stop since I was traveling with toddlers

The pool was nice and the property seemed to be in a safe location. The staff kept it very clean.

The facilities were dated. Carpet needs replaced in hallways, the office chair in my room had a LARGE rip in the seat with the stuffing sticking out. I wouldn’t sit in it. Come early for breakfast it runs out.
