The downside of the new Wingate vs Americinn is that there is a $25 early check in fee. The day I arrived, there were 2 cars in the parking lot and no maid activity. I can see this policy on busy days, but ridiculous on a slow weekday!

Positives:
Very clean, great size rooms. VERY comfortable bed. Loved that in the evening it was quiet, I almost never heard any doors opening or closing in the hallway. It was conveniently located near the ball park and lots of stores, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was good too, lots of choices.
Negatives:
I was here less than 12 hours. I didn't run into any issues or things I could have wished for differently. If I had to say anything, the orange juice at breakfast was bad concentrate. But, that's not a ding, just a note.

The front parking lot was closed off, it had just been decorated so we had to park out back along the curb and walk around the building to the front to check in and I am handicapped , but it was ok

Little things like USB port on the lamp stand, the pillows were AWESOME! Can't remember specifics but I do remember thinking the hotel just had lots of nice amenities.
Negatives:
Booking.com had us down for one bed when I'd reserved two. Reception fixed it without any further issues.

The hotel was undergoing a rebranding while there and a parking lot refinishing which was a bit to workaround. But it will make it nicer for future guests.
Positives:
The staff was very helpful and pleasant and the ones that we saw obviously got along and had a great attitude. Left us with a feeling they enjoyed their jobs, which I feel us important. Made us feel they were hapoy we were there.
Negatives:
No hot tub, hallway carpet needs replacing, and parking lot needs an upgrade, but the property is obviously in the middle of an upgrade. Kudos to you for that.

I tried to extend my stay and was told last minute that I couldn't because they only allow 3 days for locals. Never heard of anything like that before. And the employee I spoke to prior should've said something.
