The pet friendly Simmons Homestead is the only Bed & Breakfast Inn in Hyannis Port and truly reflects the spirit of old Cape Cod. The huge house and Annex were built in the 1790s and they were designed in 1988 to be a Cape Cod bed and breakfast providing a warm, friendly, relaxing, and romantic atmosphere.
This is your home away from home, a place to meet new friends, to feel at home, and relax. A pleasant haven to retire to after a day of exploring, it is situated in the very center of Cape Cod where you can wander around Cape Cod, enjoy the beaches, all the great shops, or take a day trip to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.
At the end of the day, you will return to the Inn, sit on the porch perhaps with some wine, and relax. Then go to some of the best restaurants on all of Cape Cod, which are less than two miles of the Inn.
The Inn welcomes dogs of all shapes and sizes and same with kids! They offer handouts, maps and some brochures on what to do and see all over the Cape. The Cape is small only 20 miles from here to either end and another 25 all the way to Provincetown.
The Inn offers TVs, WiFi, Internet, and discount coupons for some good restaurants and ferries to the Islands and much more. Just Perfect!
As to pets, we take dogs of any size or shape and up to 2-4 in any room. There is a flat one time $25 cleanup charge. Pets may be college educated, but they shed more than our regular two footed guests so we have to do more cleaning. Once you are here, treat the pup like you would at home. Walk him in the back yard, take him with you, or leave him in the room for while you are out wandering or having dinner. Dogs can go with you to outside seating at restaurants in the Summer and beaches that take dogs. Dogs are not allowed on local public beaches during the summer, but some beaches allow you to go in after 5:30 when the gate guards and lifeguards have left. After the Summer Season, you can take a dog to any old beach you want. You can take dogs on Harbor Cruise boats and Island Ferries any time they are running. And you don’t have to go out to eat with the dogs. You can get lots of good stuff delivered right to the Inn or go get takeout anywhere and eat with the pup on the back porch in the Summer, and in the common room any time of the year.
