Hotels with Low Rates and Low Pet Fees (or No Pet Fees)

We all dream of the fabulous trips we would take if money were no object. But in the real world, most of us have to stick to a budget. The good news? You can plan a really great trip without breaking the bank -- even if you take your four-legged kid along with you. Whether you’re traveling for work, pleasure, or a cross-country move, you can find accommodations that will leave you, your pet, and your wallet happy.

Hotels in general have become increasingly pet friendly in recent years. A number of affordable hotel chains welcome pets at all of their locations, with low or no pet fees, to boot.

Red Roof Inn
Red Roof Inn offers comfortable, reliable accommodations at over 550 convenient locations throughout the United States.  The hotel is known for its customer service and focus on guest comfort, which extends to furry guests as well. It boasts spacious guest rooms, plush bedding, a desk workspace, and ample seating. Even though it’s budget-friendly, Red Roof Inn offers some great amenities, like an extended cable package and free WiFi service.  Room rates start at $60 per night, and pets stay for free! One pet per room  -- additional pets may be allowed at management’s discretion.

Motel 6
If you’re looking for an affordable, no-frills place to crash for the night with your pooch, Motel 6 is a reliable and convenient pet-friendly choice. The famous chain offers locations on all major travel routes across the U.S., and has the distinction of being America’s original pet-friendly hotel. Room rates start at about $55 per night, and pets stay for free.

La Quinta by Wyndham
This increasingly popular hotel chain is a big hit with people, and an even bigger hit with their pets!  And no wonder -- La Quinta has a reputation for clean, spacious, comfortable rooms, and a delicious and FREE Bright Side Breakfast® (which you can bring back to your room to share with your pup, who isn’t allowed in the dining area). What’s more, La Quinta has one of the least restrictive pet policies in the industry. Most locations allow two large pets (up to 75 lbs each) to room with human guests. La Quinta’s room rates start at around $70, and pets stay for a low pet fee of $25 per pet night, with a maximum of $75 per stay.

Studio 6
Have a favorite destination in mind? Looking to stay awhile? This extended stay hotel chain is a perfect fit for travelers looking for a home away from home. Studio 6 does offer short stay options, but it excels at long-term comfort, and features convenient locations along highways, in major business sectors, and near popular vacation destinations. Room rates start at around $55 and the pet fee is $10/night with a maximum of $50 per stay.
