Tucker Talks With The Cottages at Nantucket Boat Basin: Pet Friendly Accommodations Right on the Nantucket Harbor!

Tucker Talks With The Cottages at Nantucket Boat Basin

Hi - Tucker here! I'm so excited because I've found the “pawfect” place for our next family vacation!  The Cottages at Nantucket Boat Basin on Nantucket, Massachusetts offer an up close and "pawsonal" view of the island's natural wonder.  This makes a curious pup like me so happy and gets my family excited to know that we can enjoy scenic views of the harbor, while being close to the cobblestone streets of pet friendly Nantucket Town and the nearby beaches!

I wanted to dig in and learn more about this great vacation spot!  I asked the General Manager, Jason, to fill me in on what a pup like me, and my humans, need to know when we come to The Cottages for our visit.

Tucker: Since I have a large family, I was wondering if The Cottages are big enough for all of us to come and stay . . . comfortably?

Jason:  Oh, most definitely, Tucker!  Our cottages are in a range of sizes that can accommodate all groups.  We offer pet friendly cottages with one, two, and three bedrooms, along with fully-equipped kitchens, spacious living rooms and multiple baths.  Many also have outdoor patios and decks for extra living space.  When you and your family stay with us, you'll have plenty of space to spread out while being able to stay together in the same home.

Tucker:  Some of my furry family members are not awesome dogs like me - they're different types of awesome pets. Can they come and stay at The Cottages, too?  And, what special treats can we expect that are just for us four-legged guests?

Jason:  Great questions, Tucker!  Usually 2 pets are allowed, and while dogs are our most frequent guests, we do welcome other pets with prior approval.  Big dogs like you are always welcome, as our weight limit is 250 lbs.!  Plus, we have plenty of special amenities for our furry guests:  Blissful pet beds; toys; treats; bowls; doggie turndown; complimentary beach bus where dry, leashed pets are allowed; personalized dog tag; and even a "Top Dog" contest!  There's also dog walking upon request.

Tucker:  That all sounds so great!  What about for my pet parents and their human friends - do you have special treats for them, too?

Jason:  We sure do!  While visiting, human guests can enjoy complimentary use of bicycles, shuttle service to nearby beaches (from mid-June through Labor Day), beach chairs and towels, and a pre-arrival Concierge to coordinate activities and reservations while on the island.

Tucker:  So, what sets your cottages apart from other pet friendly places to stay in the area?

Jason:  Well, for one, we have a dog of our own on-site:  Bailey, our pet concierge.  You can email him before you come, with any questions about your trip.  And, of course the staff, the great pet amenities, as well as our convenient location - with shops and sites right at your doorstep!  We offer great training and the culture of our staff is to treat human and furry guests with the highest level of service - no request is too great!

Tucker:  And what about if we want to go somewhere - what are some local pet friendly things to do?

Jason:  You and your family definitely won't be bored around Nantucket!  There are plenty of pet friendly activities to experience, like visiting pet friendly breweries and restaurants, taking Dog Walks, and wandering through the local shops.  Also, public transportation allows dogs that are dry and leashed to take a ride with their pet parents.  There are also sailing excursions and a local lighthouse to explore.
