I tried to cancel due to a change in plans caused by family illness and not only was I charged for the first night, even though I contacted the hotel via Booking and direct, several times, for days, leading up to the check in date, Hampton Inn never responded to any of my emails regarding my request to cancel. I was simply charged for the first night. When I called, the woman I spoke to was completely unphased and said that cancellation wasnt possible because of the discount price I received at booking which was higher than several locations for comparable hotels in the area. It was over $300 a night for a suburban town 45 minutes away from Phoenix, AZ. I would not recommend booking Hampton Inn due to their high cost accompanied by their lack of customer service and flexibility.
