Be careful booking a luxury corner room, they will put you in a room that is technically a corner room but oversees the building at the left of the hotel. This type of scam is very embarrassing for a 5 star hotel. Will not be booking with Sofitel anymore. It would have been better if the room description was truthful and honest.

Positives:
We stayed for a weekend during the Cherry Blossom Festival and couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful stay. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the rooms were well appointed. The bed was scrumptious with high-quality bed linens and a feather bed cover. So many lovely design details for comfort and a romantic feel. We ate dinner at Opaline and were pleased with the quality of the food. Location is excellent, walkable to sightseeing and restaurants, easily accessible via public transport. We arrived by train and relied on walking and metro to get around. Our stay was very quiet.

Excellent location. Just a few minutes walk from the White House and relatively close to all other tourist attractions.
Negatives:
This is a very old building, and not really indicative of the standards that you would find that other Sofitel locations around the world. The rooms are pretty old and the furniture has been rundown a lot. The washroom is surprisingly nice and spacious.
